    This morning a lively discussion on the Chatbox about the Benefit system. Now lets have ideas how to reform it?

      People should be treated on an individual basis, too many rules that are set in stone exclude many needy people imo.

        I found this on BBC's Have Your Say, it doesn't seem a bad idea

        Change to Household Tax. £12k for each property plus £4k for each of maximum 4 occupants.
        Homes with several earners share the allowance. This would help single people, who still have to pay the same bills as multi-income households.
        Homes on benefit would receive 40% of the tax allowance the home would receive if working, a REAL incentive to work.
        This would replace ALL existing benefits

            Just because a 'need' cannot be seen..doesn't mean it's not there.We should be treated as individuals not as a herd of cattle where one answer fits all.
