I wish to complain to Site Owener please!

I am mortally wounded. Deeply upset. I could resign over this. It's terrible.

I just noticed that I am no longer a Border Collie. I wish to point out that these noble beasts are scientifically proven to the the only breed of dog to demonstrate the capability of independant problem solving; and capable of understanding complex syntax. They are loyal, protective and empathic. I am sure Golden Retrievers, or whatever I now appear to be, are lovely pets. But I worked hard to be a Border Collie and I want my Border Collie back please.

You have my upmost sympathy at this wrong characterization of your abilities

I have all the attributes of my Dalmation and worry terribly what will happen to me next since this noble breed is not acknowledged by LB :Cry:

Shame. Clearly Cel has not thought through the implications of this social structure. What are the Rottweliers and the Pit Bulls to do? Are Chihuahuas destined never to be recognised?

This has prompted me to look up my breed:

It is hard to imagine a better temperament in a dog than the typical personality of the Irish Red Setter. They are an outstanding companion dog for several reasons, not the least of what has been a concentrated effort by breeders to keep the stable, friendly and outgoing temperament of the breed as a priority with breeding programs.

Obedience work can be very challenging. Abused or neglected Irish Red Setters may be very difficult all their lives, with issues such as submissive urination and separation anxieties developing over time.


I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions as to the accuracy, but beware abusing or neglecting me!

Go to Settings at top of page towards right hand side.
Wheb loaded look to left side of page, scroll down to My Settings/Edit Avatar and highlight it.
Should give you Edit Avatar page, click Radio Button of Use Custom Avatar and either give a URL where the file is (Option 1) or Upload an image from your Computer (Option 2) - take note of the max size you are allowed 100 x 100 pixels or 24.4kb - you may need to resize your chosen image.
When done click on Save Changes - if you have not met the size requirements the image will not show/appear

I'm assuming the Black Labrador sits somewhere just below Site Admin, so while I'm fortunate enough to enjoy the company of one of these magnificent creatures, I can but aspire to be one as yet!

That's not entirely supported by my experience.

My first collie was remarkably cunning; when he found he could no longer leap over the fence which we'd raised in height, he took to wriggling under the wrought iron gate. When we built up the level of the drive, he took to leaping onto the top of the gate and then down on the other side. When a fore-paw was caught in the scroll-work on the top of the gate and hung by it for about a second or two, he never did that again.

Instead, he took to hiding under the motor-home that was parked on the drive and waiting until my grandmother panicked, thinking that he had somehow slipped out. He waited until she opened the gate and looked up the road, then he crept out and ran off in the opposite direction.

My second border collie was a very poor replacement, as he was morose and not a little stupid. We never bonded properly and, whenever he was walked on a lead, he would trudge round rubbing himself against the wall or hedge away from the road; had that been a dislike of traffic noise, one could understand it - but the roads were completely empty of any traffic.

Whenever the door bell rang, he would bark loudly and, if the sitting room door was open, he would race to the front door where he would bark and snarl at the caller. If the sitting room door was not open, he would crash against it, rattling the door and making it bounce open a little.

It was my Jack Russell terrier who exploited that centimetre gap by hooking her claws around it to pull the door open.
