A tgreat was started on here today about excuses from people as to why they should not do work,Can i suggest a thread on excuses for whatever?
    My contribution to start
When my dad was training an apprentice metalworker in the early seventies he noticed the lad struggling to cut some metal stock with a handsaw,he asked whats the problem why you making it look so hard
The reply i think theres a knot in it When he stopped laughing dad told him there were knots in wood not metal

    Re: Excuses

When working on the Railway I heard loads of excuses for not buying a ticket, everything from "I didn't have change" (this after giving the kids a pound each to spend in WHS for behaving) to "I was in a rush and the ticket office said I could buy a ticket on the train" WRONG!! You could buy on the train when the ticket office was shut, not open!!

The best excuse I heard was, the ticket office clerk hadn't shaved and I have a fear of beards!
Totally understandable, until I tell you Emma was not happy to be told she needed to see a barber!

My eldest son has a firey temper, he got in to trouble at school and told the teacher but my brain stopped working!

My Son in trouble at school for not doing his RE homework - excuse ...... Well in RE we are doing about Adam & Eve and God creating Man, in Geography we are talking about Charles Dawin and the Theory of Evolution - I'm confused and one of you is lying! (He actually got away with that too AND they amended the syllabus so that the 2 topics were not covered at the same time!)

        Re: Excuses

This has just happened and I swear to God it's true. My son has just been called into work on his day off (he is a chef)...because the person who is meant to be working can't get in as the road is closed because (and I quote) ''there's a nutter running around with a gun!!'' Which may or may not actually be true but the roads are definitely closed.

Yesterday I watched someone reverse ever so delicately in to a bright green minibus, with the words THE KIDS CLUB emblazoned on it in bright white writting.
The victim vehicle was the size of a transit van and stuck out like a fart at a garden party.

When asked how in Gods name she hit the only bright green thing in the entire carpark, the woman replied "It was parked next to a bush, I thought it was part of the foliage!!"

Update on the nutter with the gun :-
The girl who should have been working was,in fact,in the house next door to the bloke with the gun and wasn't able to leave her house (for obvious reasons)....after a few hours the police managed to sort it all out,,nutter now in custody.

yesterday, this girl I have known for a while lost the plot in Asda. She made such a show of herself it was hillarious, when her husband asked her what the bloody ada she thought she was doing she said (quote) I am still traumatised that we got the wrong pope!

The last time that woman did anything remotely religious someone poured water on her head!!

I'd have said 'Don't worry chick,,he won't be around too long,,he's 76 already fgs' ..The way it's going, they are gonna start advertising the job as 'temporary'
