Best movie to see/ v for vendetta

i realise this is an old movie by todays standards but i have finally just watched it.

regular posters will know that i am a staunch advocate on peoples human rights and how goverments can twist things to their advantage, and how people can just sleep walk into an authoritarian regime in the name of security


this movie is very clever in the way it was made, and with some great acting.

i recommend everybody should see it to see how a goverment with a well rehearsed spin campaign can manipulate the general public to its own dogma with prejudice. i am talking on peoples sexual orientation and immigration as the old guard of the tory right.

i will end with a few lines

people should not be afraid of their goverment, the goverment should be afraid of its people

the movie is not bad either as a whole

Made in Dagenham is an excellent piece of social drama and shows how people power can bring about change.

Actually, Sapphy, I do remember a tv programme called The Rag Trade. If my memory serves me correctly, Miriam Karlin was in it as well.

for some heavy educational piece of british film making, i recommend with some fine british actors

history is seen as a dirty word, especially british history

This is what is happening throughout the world now, Miliitant. The banksters think they run the world and can call the tune. I will try and post a link to a Youtube video that shows what is happening in Spain. In one part, you see Spanish police beating the crap out of protesters with riot batons, but in a later part, you see protesters advancing on police in a peaceful and non-violent manner. The reaction of the police is that it is pretty obvious the police officers are cacking themselves. I have been in situations like that when I was in the Met. The division I was on tended to have a lot of protest marches come through it most weekends. I can tell you that there were times when my underwear changed colour very quickly, because you don't know how a crowd is going to react or what they are going to do next in those circumstances.

"The Sate") and get folks that work to keep "The State" going (police, etc...) carry the can. Welcome to the 21st Century (20th, 19th, 18th...).

i know its a girly thing but I tend to watch films with Hugo Weaving in it, simply because its got hugo weaving in it.. but thats just me.. and any film where the houses of parliment get it is ok with me

Also, did you know that in Independence Day, when they blew up the White house, the americans actually cheered and gave the scene a standing ovation!!

uk parliament has been in existence since 1707 in its modern form. The ideals it once stood for have all but vanished into to much internal politics.

WHAT PARLIAMENT NEEDS TO RESTORE FAITH IN THE POLITICAL SYSTEM IS FOR A CERTAIN NUMBER OF SEATS TO BE GIVEN UP BY ALL PARTIES AND REASSIGNED TO INDAPENDENT CANIDATES WITH NO POLITICAL AFFILIATION

no longer does it represent the common man. remember, even cromwell was a puritan farmer and parliament was full of working puritans, though privileged born and university educated, they held the belief in the equality of man.

once a goverment starts passing laws with no public debate then thats the time to get rid of them, after all, they are accountable to the people. blair did it with the attack on our civil liberties in the name of terror which most of the public just sleep walked into, and with this lot on our right to exist as they have attached a financial price to birth, family life, retirement and even death

It will only remain that way for as long as people let it. When people start standing up to the powers-that-be and vested interests, things change because the politicians and so-called "captains of industry" cack themselves. Individual police officers are beginning to realise something is badly wrong and are doing what they can, behind the scenes, to put it right. They are beginning to notice that some of their colleagues are not behaving normally and some of the courses they are being asked to go on is giving them cause for concern.
