Re: Jimmy Saville: Does my memory deceive me?

It all seems a little too strident, a little too orchestrated. One suspects that attention is being focused on him (he's dead, so he's a safe conviction-by-media), and a few other high profile names, in order to divert attention away from others much higher up the ladder, both inside and outside the BBC.

Re: Jimmy Saville: Does my memory deceive me?

All this coming out now has got a lot of other people into trouble and he has escaped ,not that some shouldnt be in trouble of course, those who knew and said nothing, and those who took advantage of young and underage girls, but now there are a lot of suspects whose name will be tarnished ,and who may not be guilty of anything, but doing what teenage lads do, trying it on,and most of the suspects will have been teenagers themselves
If groping is counted there must be hundreds guilty,,and what is classed as groping by some of the girls, might not have been as bad as it sounds or really is, not saying its right, but it happened and is still happening, but now there are laws putting people on the sex offenders register, still wrong then, but i still think if anyone is awarded compensation,it should be to those who reported it and were not believed,
I believe there were 7 opportunities for the police to arrest him,but they didnt, so at least 7 reports then
I do feel for his family though, but again according to his great niece, her grandmother knew and said" he doesnt mean anything by it"
I think his celebrity status and him telling the girls, and a couple of boys," no one will believe you, "must have been frightening, because probably no one would have believed them

Now it seems Leonard Rossiter has been named as a paedophile, also Wilfred Bramble [Old man Steptoe ] was named a few weeks ago
A top politician [living] was due to be named on the Newsnight programme that was cancelled, most of the named are dead!
The man who named Rossiter said the BBC was a cesspit of paedophiles, he said a woman was also attacked,

And now they are trying to link him to Peter Sutcliffe, the Yorkshire Ripper, as they seemed to be friends when JS visited Broadmoor, and one of PS killings was just yards from JS flat in Leeds [What next i wonder]

I thought that was a joke, ie Peter Sutcliffe trying to distance himself from Jimmy Saville? I doubt they were friends since how can you be friends with a visitor to Broadmoor considering that mental health issues were still prevalent in him in the 1980's(and I mean Sutcliffe rather than JS)

According to the paper[SUN] they are going to question Peter Sutclffe, as to whether he was friendly with Jimmy Savile, in the 70s and 80s while the Ripper killings were going on, as they both had a fascination with dead bodies and visiting morgues, and Jimmy Savile used to visit Peter Sutclffe in BroadmoorThere was a photo of him in the papers a few weeks back sharing a joke with him ,when he was visiting

Re: Jimmy Saville: Does my memory deceive me?

The politician has already been questioned, and he was going to be outed on the newsnight programme that was cancelled, he apparently threatened to sue if his name was brought into it
When this first broke i googled Jimmy Savile, and what came up was shocking, it was all about the childrens home in Jersey,Edward Heath allegedly took JS across to Jersey, also mentioned was Peter Mandelson, ,so maybe he is the politician they are talking about, but it sounds as if Heath was no better,

Well its all the Eton boys together, hell fire and all that

might have know the tory toffs would pull a smoke screen over this, considering they have murdoch as best of pals, BBC no better, and since when has ITN been indapendant

or is it they only go after dead people who cant defend themself but slander their reputation with unfounded allegations, and i am not talking of JS either

Re: Jimmy Saville: Does my memory deceive me?

I feel conspicuous by my absence here. I recall listening to JS on Radio Luxembourg when I was a kid. He became a part of my youth, dammit. He was just another nutty DJ/presenter who kinda pushed the limits. But I had heard those rumours, back then - and other rumours, too - Jonathan King was an example. I remember (vaguely) thumbing a lift home from an 'early teens' boozy night in Kingston, Surrey to my home in Richmond (approx. 4 miles) It was J King who picked me up, and I pretended not to recognize him, as I'd heard some rumours about a school mate. He was fine with me, and I went home 'unmolested.'

But - if I had been 'jumped' by the guy, I really don't know how I would be feeling about it now. I know I let another guy grope me once for a lift home - but that really was as far as I would have let it go. But - back in our early teens - we were so easily led. We needed to explore - but we had NO idea of what predators there were stalking that jungle back then. A lot of my early memories are being shattered by all this stuff - and on an almost daily basis. If even 1% of this is true, then the damage done is infinitely more than the damage I feel has been done to my 'oh so precious' memories.

The 'Leeds Mafia' are no longer on the payroll, so perhaps we will finally see some truth emerge from this.

Freddie Starr was a MAJOR celeb in my younger days,,and whilst he was 'saucy' I would be shocked bandy if he even dared to think about putting his reputation at stake for a fumble with a underage girl,,lets be honest,,he had he pick of the 'birds',I remember being starstruck by Noel Edmonds when the Radio 1 Roadshow came to my town,,and the girlies were kept well away from the 'stars',closest we got was an autograph with a big tabletop between us and the celebs. Drugs and drink were very prevalant back then,,and far better hidden from the public than they are now,''Rehab'' is a badge of honour nowadays it seems.
As regards Savile,,,,,vile slimey bigheaded ugly stunk of smoke and way too big for his boots (yep,,met him in Stoke Mandeville,,had carpal tunnel ops done there in early 80's) Nothing that comes out about him would surprise me..Same as Gadd ,,vile.. I should imagine there are quite a few fading stars of that era who are sweating. If someone approached me and said they had been abused,I would believe them instantly,,and if it got disproven I would rather look a fool for believing them than a coward who turned them away. And thats the Gospel according to Inca (Go on,,admit it,,ya missed me ) lol xxx oh and as a BIG add on,,,That freak Sutcliffe doesn't deserve a second thought,,nothing that thing could say/do should hold any creedance whatsoever in any way shape or form,,he should just be silenced...full stop.

There is no way on gods green earth Freddie Starr touched up kids. End of.

I worked on Paddington Station and I met him, he is LOVELY.
A woman had 2 kids, no more than 11 at the most, both done up like (excuse the phrase Sapphy but you will know where it comes from) East End tarts, it was a real case of Excuse me love you daughter has a face on her make-up!
Mr Starr (who was a real gentleman, referred to me as Miss and had the manners of a prince) saw them and went NUTS! He said, you are putting your children at risk like that! SHAME ON YOU MADAM!

No way is he interested in kids, if it was Sam Fox on the other hand......
