I can't see this happening myself. Firstly the Libdems will not support it and I doubt Labour would, and non white families who I am guessing this would affect the most, will claim it is against their human rights. If IDS wants to save £10 billion could I suggest he takes a look at the foreign aid we are due to give next year which is £11 billion.

it is in violation of every bodies human rights, it is irrelevant what ethnic backround you come from

First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.

they have allready targeted the sick, unemployed, and the disabled
now it is the family structure

      WHO NEXT

taking euthenasia off the statute books and decriminalise the offence of assisted suicide so people can go abroad to die as they are costing the state to much money for being old ??

those who forget the past are destined to repeat it

Euthanasia..................having been through what I have been through,,having seen what I have seen,,and knowing the path I am destined to travel and cannot divert from,,,,,,,,,,I'm all for it.........My wishes are already set in stone..I have written them down,,I have recorded them onto CD...My medical records clearly state DNR..and I pray that by the time decisions need to be made regarding me that the law has been changed and it's no longer necessary to go abroad to find eternal peace. It's all been discussed with my family.I ,,at present I.can do no more.Noone else has to walk in my shoes,,only me,,and when the road becomes too rocky and the end is a whisper away,,I want it to be my choice when to go.

I dont think anybody has a "biological right" to have children. I think people are allowed to have children far to easily and these people don't have the education (and will never want it) mental capacity or finances to look after a child correctly. How many times do we see mothers who preach they can't afford to feed their 3 kids properly yet she is heavily pregnant?? How many children are in care or SHOULD be in care because parents could not care less? I am not maternal, i never will be at my age but even i can see that children are not getting the correct upbringing, from parents who think it is "their right" to procreate. I love dogs, i would have as many as a i could but i dont have the financial capacity to do this and quite rightly i have as many as i can afford to feed and pay for. Nobody has the "right" to do anything if they cant afford to pay for it, and to say the government should help is why we are in a state today. Are these are future tax payers? yes a majority will be but also a majority wont be and they will be in the dole like their parents, grandparents, and many more before them. I do agree however that the people who already have x amount of children should continue to get help but yes absolutely there should be a cap. It should have been done a long time ago.

As long as the state pays a salary for having children, there will be professional mothers.

Exactly my point, we should put an immediate cap now so that people will know whats what in the future, however I do believe that those already in the system should stay in there and natural progression will mean that in a maximum of say 14 years then the whole child benefit system will be at an end.

Re: Two children child benefit cap.....what do you think?

personally, I think its the real working families who will lose out if this happens.
those who have to use the help for things like petrol, energy bills, nappies.. if you don't work you are a government sponger who shouldn't get a penny, if you do work you shouldn't need the money and the benefits need stopping, but in practise those who dont work are sometimes better off than those who do!
I'm not slagging anyone off but the idea of a cap on how many kids can get benefits will mean more kids under the poverty line, regardless of race, creed, area. Instead of how many kids you have, how about how much you earn (say 30k+ no benefits) and how many years you have worked and paid tax (say never worked, straight on benefits maximum of 2 years, then how much you are putting back in to the country.)

I agree there have to be cuts and there have to be purse strings tightened, how about a tax on those with their Sunday homes that are worth more than 100000? or a limit to how much you earn before you have to not take a bonus (ooooh controversial)
