    Re: Sleepless in Seattle hardly

If I was you,I would start a thread stating exactly what has happened re drop in finances, what money you have coming in,,what are your priority debts (rent /mortgage etc),and any 'rogue' monies you have to pay out (loans etc) and I virtually guarantee someone will find a way to sort you out. They are pretty on the ball, this lot,I find things out every day. Just do NOT go to PayDay lenders,,that will open up a huge can of stress. As long as you have a roof over your heads, food in tummys and each other, nothing is so serious it can't be sorted
    Hi Inca
I have already done the above old hand at it now and yep no pay day loans would never go there but it does not help when everything is going up and your income drops
Some of it was down to the taxman getting tax codings wrong sorted that now but no refund
Shopping bill is the worst I cut back so much to basics fresh air is quite tasty but on a serious note its taking longer to sort than I anticipated because the unexpected keeps happening

      Re: Sleepless in Seattle hardly

Why no tax refund? thats sucks ........I had a huge shopping bill this week,,I had to,,we literally on had ice in the freezer and the fridge was feeling lonely with only pickle jars and plastic cheese squares (yuck!)
I'm feeling stronger now so going to get on my perchseat in kitchen and make stews, curry, casseroles, chilli, bolognese etc,,cheap and cheerful but bloody handy to have in freezer.I think I have exhausted all the ways to cook with mince lol. I shop at Asda and Iceland, cheapest shops I think. It's stuff like bog roll and washing liquid thats so expensive,,cheaper bog rolls aint worth getting cos end up using twice as much! I had to increase my house insurance this week cos we are stripping FIL's house ( he passed recently)
and it's all here!! Oh and have 4 cats who refuse to go hungry, still,,if needs be I can roast one of them

        Re: Sleepless in Seattle hardly

I shop at Heron Tesco (no Asda near me ) and coop reduced section
I try to fill up the freezer and like you make hearty meals
Eon have just bumped up my electric payments thanks to a bank error so got to find the extra for that and its getting cold outside so I need to buy Oil soon and have to pay upfront for that as the monthly scheme they run is rubbish I dont trust these family run businesses to keep my money safe until I need oil
So we have chopped up some wood we had in the garage from old furniture that was broken and are burning it on the open fire my only saving grace
It remindeds me of that clip on the young ones when Ade Edmundson burns everything in the house to keep warm
What year we are living in and what country

I see British gas have increased their tarriff again,,am gonna shop around cos I can't afford not to.Open fires are fab, would love one but they need fuel too .what's the oil for? (sorry probably being thick) and I agree with you,,don't trust your money to anyone. It's a real swine trying to make ends meet. Are you claiming everything you are entitled to?

The oil is the central heating and hot water and the minimum you can order is 500LTRS costing about £340 a time bloody rip off
When we first moved here I could fill the tank for winter about 1200ltrs and it would cost about £120
Its the minimum order that buggers us up every time because its so expensive
We come into the income band where they are taking ever thing off us tax credit child benefit but our mortgage is a large chunk of that (stupid idea to move ) so we are stuffed regardless
            our pockets are so squeezed
My OH works all the hours but no extra pay( salaried and should be thankful he has a job) he is taxed to the hilt and we have no spare income our debts are be paid off slowly (our fault
but that was the good times ) interst rate hikes put paid to that our house is now not worth what we paid for it no spare cash there then so at present we are muddling along like many others
Sorry to bleat on but so fed up at the mo .

Hun,,you bleat as much as you like,,I got broad shoulders and been there done that and it feels like you're wading in mud and getting nowhere fast. I've literally been down to the last 50p..making electric last(when I had the key meter),Any chance of cutting down what you pay off debts?.It's an absolute git when you start having benefits cut,I remember losing my sons CB (shouldn't have stopped ,he was in college) and breaking my heart crying cos it was the only money I had left for that week (£18) they paid it the following week but that wasn't the point. You get to the point where you get so sick of worrying that you just stop worrying,I did...arranged to pay everything minimum, except rent n ctax (wasn't risking my house) .The creditors didn't like it,but tough tits,I didn't have it to give them. That oil is awful price I agree whats their monthly rate like?
