i realy do hope you get your compensation though

About five years ago, i was driving through the high street and my car windscreen got broken by an idiot who was drunk throwing a beer bottle. reviewing the video tape i realised it was not deliberate. Anyway, the CCTV got him and he was arrested. In court i was awarded £200 compensation but as he was on benefits, £1.00 a week.

He failed to make payments and was sent to jail for two weeks. As he had been sent to jail, the compensation was classed as "spent" as he served time and i was then advised to do a civil claim to someone who is on benefit. So it was me out of my own pocket who paid for the windscreen

    Justice, i think not

indeed, Militant. I guess this may illustrate the difference 'twixt the 'personally responsible' compensation, and the fund-based 'award' methods. Hopefully, by Puff's account, this guy has some honour and decency, and will not sink to the level of the poor guy who elected to serve 2 weeks, rather than make an effort. He has my sympathy ONLY because he doesn't seem to have a life he can call his own, though.
