Very compassionate and understanding of you to take those things into consideration, Puff. I'm not very well up on how it all goes, but I guess he will be charged by the Police with various offences, and will have to plead his own mitigating circumstances in court. But if he is genuinely prepared to make good the damage done, then it may be possible to drop various other charges against him (eg., criminal damage, etc ?) A bit of compo for your family's trauma wouldn't go amiss, either, perhaps.

If that is possible (and I'm only guessing it is) - then you may need to ensure that he settles matters BEFORE court - and BEFORE he gets posted to some undisclosed location to suffer more slings and arrows of whatever outrageous fortune he finds himself battling with !!!

I might write a letter to the local CPS and say, the man served his country, he obviously has a rage issue (I will post up a picture of the back windowscreen wiper, its literally snapped off the car) and that I don't want him sent to jail, but rather to be sent for help with whatever part of his head that went POP.

Honestly I think that in this case, a custard sentence (yes I used to call it a custard sentence when I was little and wanted to be a police woman) is going to do more harm than good, and lets be honest, these boys and girls are sent out there to see god alone knows what, then when their Tour is over, TTFN, thanks for everything! No real counselling offered, just have a nice rest of your life! Its gonna cost me £100 to put the glass back, though Mr R thinks he might be able to get a whole window cheaper, and no one (thankfully) got hurt, infact before I knew about The Boy's window, I was going to call the police cos I was scared he would hurt HIMSELF rather than anyone else!

Sounds like a good plan, Puff. Maybe wait and see if BB pops back in later. He's probably a good soldier having a bad moment, and doesn't deserve the clink just for that. I too used to have a mental image of a masked unshaven burglar having to stand in a huge pot of custard as punishment !!!

Oh - and thank you for the hug Messimoo. LOL - I was just trying to be Pheasant for a change - instead of the the grumpy plucker I usually am !!! :tinysmile_cry_t:
