It will be standard procedure. The doctors have to be thorough and have to cover their backs by making sure they've ruled out everything.

Reading up about illnesses or medical issues on the internet is dangerous in my opinion. I can guarantee if I read an online medical dictionary I would be 100% sure I'd got 95% of the conditions in there, and would probably need investigation for the remaining 5%.

Please trust the doctors to do their jobs, and don't work yourself up by reading on the internet.

LOL glad the last post did not make you feel faint or vomit labman .

Yes that is so so right, and I am a b*gger for doing that, so I must STOP.

Thank you Labman so much, I feel better now x:tinysmile_kiss_t4:

This morning my son had his stitches out, healed well, area of incision very dry and he is to apply a little vaseline on the area at nights before bed.

I did not go with him, because he had to go straight to work, nothing mentioned of the biopsy tests, but when my son rang me he said he didnt ask, so I'm sure if there was any problems they would have said, or for him to go back, so - so far looking good.

My eldest has to have an incision of a A sebaceous cyst tomorrow afternoon, it's huge "yuk".
It's on his left top part of the arm, well almost on his shoulder and it's actually being done at the docs for minor ops. Obviously I know they will numb it first and get on with the job, so it's unlikely he will be able to drive for a few hours.

Has anyone every had this done?
And if so has it ever grown back? I hear this can happen, his has been there for well over a year and I nagged him silly to get it sorted, but the thing is he's no baby anymore lol, 24 this year.

Tomorrow morning my youngest has an appointment with a dematologist, for some skin issues/few little moles too.
            POINH

                Pictures Or It Never Happened.

For example, here's a picture of my left big toe after some bits of bone had been removed. Enjoy!

Re: Incision of A sebaceous cyst

A diabetic foot ulcer led to an infection of the bone and the bone just disintegrated. The shards of bone needed to be pulled from my toe if the end of it was to heal.

So the podiatrist sliced it open and poked around inside with a pair of forceps.

                    I never even felt it.

A biopsy is normal procedure after any lump has been removed, even when the doctors know what it is, i had a fatty lump removed from just above my knee a few years ago,it had to go for a biopsy, never heard anything more, so no news is good news, dont worry,it will be fine

                          Cheers for that Valerie.:tinysmile_kiss_t4:

Back some years ago, when my youngest (other son) was just a little tot, he had this lump growing on his neck, within good time he was taken in hospital, taken it out for biopsy, and we had to return 2 weeks for the results, but with it being in the neck - the positioning of it they could not actually diagnose it like they did with my oldest son's of the sab cyst, as it was a different looking lump altogether, thankfully the results were that of a normal lymph node but they did say it would have kept on growing if they had not removed it and it may have caused disabilities if they hadn't.
They admitted they had to test for leukemia etc, but as said with the positioning of it, that would be an automatic thing they would do in that sense.

                          Again thank you x

Actually one of my sons has a lump on his neck that he is waiting to see someone about at the hospital
His Dr asked about his lymph glands in other places, but as they were ok she thinks this is a cyst too, but she said if other lymph nodes were affected she would have been very worried, this liump has kept growing, i have been telling him for ages to see a Dr, but you know what men are like, cowards when they have to see a Dr lol

Oh gosh, sounds like you going through the same issues as me, with my oldest it had taken over a year to persuade him, good luck with that then.

I was told by the consultant on the day of the results, with my youngest son's lump that it was actually very common, but said it was again procedure to rule other matters out.

Strangely enough my sister in law has also had a lump on her neck for a number of years, she did get it checked out but was told she did not have to have it removed because it is one of those common ones, and if it played her up by it being painful as such then to let them know.
In my youngest case, he was too young to say if it was painful or not, which was another reason why they did take it out.
