Been to York twice last week -(now we got an Express Bus-free-lol)

Terrified I might choose a crap venue-so trying all out--(getting overweight & alcoholic already)---seriously-I'm ok with everything now-so we'll move on to the arrangements for Friday/Saturday/Sunday morning perhaps also

What time are people arriving in York? Friday or Saturday?--need to plan Friday aft/evening or night??

4 questions re attractions that can be pre-booked (ie Jorvik Centre can have 1.5 hr quues for instance)

Are you interested in the Floodlit Night River cruise at 9:15 (£9.50 (8.50))?
York Boat - Floodlit Evening Cruise 2012
Are you interested in pre-booking Jorvik Centre?
Are you interested in pre-booking Castle Museum?
Are you interested in pre-booking York Dungeons?

Then we can plan around those (if need be) with all other attractions everyone doing their own thing (with ad hoc groups perhaps) and specific meeting venues also at designated pubs at designated times.

A little gimmicky shop here if you like dressing up--perhaps Bill in women's clothes--lol

btw--even in February--York was packed out--a truly vibrant Tourist City--so be warned!--it could be like Picadilly Circus Tube Station in the Minster oldy worldy quarter-lol

I'm getting there at 2:58 on Friday (book in 3:00 lol)
                      I'm definitely going to
                      • Jorvik Centre
                      • Castle Museum (maybe Sat & Sunday as I want to see Street Scene & Sixties Themes amongst others)

Perhaps Dungeon & Boat Trip if others interested

I'm not doing Ghost walk or City walls Walk---bad leg

                        Ok I am next lol

But firstly would like to thank Turbo for the many trips to York sussing out all the good places to go to and I know he has put his heart and soul into this.

We are arriving Friday afternoon not sure of time but guess around 4ish, picking up Maxie and Jax en route, I am told about a 4 hour drive as we are bound to stop on the way for refreshments.

O/H and I sincerely would like to go for afternoon tea at Bettys (well I do) so guess that would be on Saturday afternoon and will book a table for myself and Mr T, I would like to go the boat trip if at all possible again walking is again not for me as I have an achilles heel tendonosis which is painful to walk too far. Short walks in moderation is OK. I will fit in with the majority where I can at all other times.

We have 1/2 board at hotel so will be going back for dinner on both Friday and Saturday evenings and will arrange to meet up again with everyone where ever everyone is going after we have refreshed ourselves with food.

Really looking forward to York as it is coming over as a truely fabulous city and wonder if they are ready for some 20 Beagles decending on them. I still hope that more will be joining us to help us celebrate 5 years.

Ooooh Tutts, can I join your party please. Posh tea and a boat trip sounds lovely.

I'll eat wherever the majority are going to be?

p.s Thanks Bill. The eagle landed
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

When I checked a few things out it appeared to be but I think being near the KitKat Crescent will be absolutely fine for me as I will be near others who are situated in Bootham Crescent. Nearer the time those in that vacinity should exchange numbers simply cos walking into the centre of York can sometimes be better when you have company(and normally no one lets me out on my own without an escort at the facility I stay at and definitely not in usually )

I really must also echo my thanks and admiration to Turbo for this. 5 years of Beagles...cometh the hour - cometh the man !!! Brilliant job, glittery-drawers !!! And...may I also acknowledge the massive help that this old charmer has garnered from so many other good peeps in this thread.

"Never....before.....in the field of human conflict......have so many drinks been owed to so few." I'll be in the bog most of the time, I guess.

Me - I'm pretty easy, but a cheapskate - so I'm all for block bookings and early-booking discounts. I'm OK for any and all of the listed attractions - but can't afford silly money, and can't stand long queues.

All being well, I'll be coming down in the BarbieMobile with Shell, but we have yet to thrash out a timetable. Assuming I survive THAT journey, I'm hoping to meet up with Oporto and Maxie, and I'm happy to submit to their every whim (with disclaimers and escape clauses, of course). Stirring up an earlier 'clash,' - I guess we should maybe consider ourselves as maybe 2 or 3 groups regarding the daytime stuff. As an example, I'm looking forward to sampling a REAL Yorkshire Pud, and taking tea at 'Roy's Rolls' - but I really do dig the feelings of others, who are gonna be doing the real 'sense of occasion' thing at Betty's.

So - maybe we could consider 2 or 3 daytime 'groups,' but make sure that we all meet up at the end of the day each day for the 'Final Conflict.'

LOL - Glad to hear "The Beagle has Landed, Cel." Let's hope it flies again.
