  • Season of Goodwill Scrooge

Well my vote goes to Royal Mail, I know all about the size structure of posting letters and so do most by now, except maybe the older end who for years have been sending their Xmas Greetings 2nd class to save a couple o bob.
Well my aunt repeated what she did on my birthday sent me a special card that was a tad larger than a normal envelope size. I didn't pay to get the card and she didn't want me to either.
Agian with the post and I knew right away it was her lol a lovely hand written card saying 'unfortunately we can't deliver your item because there is a fee to pay' 'the sender didn't pay full postage'.
They then paid someone to check if it was the correct postage, write out a hand written card and send it out with our postie. All this to tell me I owe £1.10 if I wish to see the card, which I now don't ( I checked there is no money in it) lol.
It's Christmas and it was a Christmas card thats all, perhaps you think I am wrong but I just find it kind of sad.

Ahh, that's sad for both you and your dear aunt. I think you're right that Royal Mail deserve the Scrooge Prize 2010. Remember though - it's the thought that counts, and the thought was definitely there!

      OMG Di, bless XXX

The same thing happened to me to Maxie, well I got my hubby to post the card for me on his way to afternoons, this was approx last week, I stuck on a first class stamp, but hubby was meant to take it into the post office for weighing, with it being a larger card as such and he was to pay the extra.

Of course he forgot to call in the post office on his way to work and just automatically posted it in the post box down the road, I didn't think anything of it until I asked our Maxie if it had arrived.
It arrived but they knocked on her door - got her out of bed early, and asked if she could pay the extra £1.10.

      I felt awful!
