  • Rhino Poaching

My brother is a shareholder in a South African game reserve that borders the Kruger National Park. Two years ago they acquired 3 White Rhino at considerable expense (about £30k a pop) and they have thrived.

A few weeks ago poachers broke in and shot one but were disturbed before they could cut off the horns. The thing took 8 hours to die.

Although the culprits got away initially it's now emerged that the park vet, along with another vet, is implicated in the poaching.
