Look, Orc, just mention Penalties to an England team and it sends fear ripping through you. Statistically, England are the worst team with 3 shoot outs and 3 losses. In fact in major championships we have only won once in a penalty shoot out.

Personal opinion, if Drogba does not play in the first round of the World Cup I think Ivory Coast will struggle(apart from North Korea).

I love the freshness and enthusiasm of African football, but tactical awareness, thats the problematic issue. They have tremendous skill, individually.

Look at what France or in Drogbas case English clubs can do with the African players in their leagues. In a couple of tournaments time, I think a nation from Africa will win it.

No European nation has won the World Cup outside European soil, but could this be a first. I would like to see Spain win, as they have underperformed in the past but play some of the most exciting football.

I'm off on me jollies on Sunday so will be watching the England games from an air conditioned bar in Egypt, am back on the 29th.

          My prediction for the final:

          Spain v England

          England to win 2-1

Oh and of course Fabulous Frank (Lampard) and the other Chelsea players will be outstanding.

From my house I can see the star and stripes gently breezing in the horizon and I noticed one or 2 Algerian flags on the way home.

I'm told that the Slovenian flag was more difficult to come by, but am assured it arrives by courier tomorrow morning.

Yes, almost like some United Nations convention. lol

The Scottish wouldn't support England if their lives depended on it.

Yet the English are unsportsmanlike because they rebelled against Andy Murray for saying he'd never support England.

That was a joke Amy re the flags- note the lol. There seem to be more chips on this forum at times than at Harry Ramsdens. (thats a joke).

But we love Jimmy Hill though, we even gave him his own song, well OK, it started with "We hate Jimmy Hill.........................., but that was us showing him affection, otherwise we would not have bothered! (thats a joke)

I think you will find that its the commentators and press that Scots dislike. Have a look at the BBC link I posted earlier. EG the British Broadcasting Corporation ceases to be for the next 3 weeks and has become the EBC. (OK that was not really funny, but you get my point)

                            Lost on me I'm afraid.

Scotland isn't as shoddy at rugby.

That was kind Amy about the rugby, thanks. We do try you know.

Jimmy made the following gaffs amongst many-

“I would undoubtedly pick him in the next England squad if I was the England manager and he wasn't actually Bermudan.”

“We're not used to weather in June in this country.”

“They're still in the game, and they're trying to get back into it.”

"That's a wise substitution by Terry Venables: three fresh men, three fresh legs."

"If England are going to win this match, they're going to have to score a goal."

Perhaps we should have a Colemanballs thread on here during the world cup??
