Figures unearthed by a request under the Freedom of Information Act have revealed just how cosy the Financial Services Authority's relationship with the banks it 'regulates' really is.
In the year to June 2005, the FSA managed to party away £182.062 in ''staff entertainment''. £103.890 of it over the christmas period alone.
As the FSA is funded soley by the firms it regulates, it means that the financial institutions it's ment scrutinise on behalf of the public, picked up every penny of the bar tab.
Trebles all round!
