Hi guys,
I have a little bit of a confession for you... but you're going to like it I promise!
Recently, I have been feeling something missing at work. To put it bluntly.... I'm bored.
I work in Supported Living, and there isn't really a lot of care work to be done there. It's mainly making sure no one kills anyone and the place doesn't burn down.
Also I do sleep shifts, with hypermobility I am in constant pain because I can't take my painkillers in case I'm needed to be up and about, we have people who get up at 3am occasionally.
So I thought to myself, can you see yourself here in 6 months time? Time and time again, the answer came back as no.
On Monday, I got a call from a gentleman who had seen my CV on CV Library and was inviting me to an interview today at 10:30 am. I know I didn't tell anyone but... we sneaky, so I decided what the heck, it's only an interview.
Halfway through it, the interviewer suddenly said "Would you like a hot drink? Tea? Coffee? Chose ya poison!"
He wandered off and came back with 2 cups of coffee, then grinned saying "You've got the job by the way!"
My darlings, not only is it a rolling 2 week rota with every second weekend off.... it's £1 an hour pay increase. To say I am proud is an understatement, I am proud of ME.
I went outside, in the rain, to my Dad's rosebush and told him about the job. I know he's smiling at me too! His little Smudge just did herself proud!
Thank you to Ula Amethyst Kati and my darling PAWS for all their pep talks and encouragement.
I am now going to open the Amaretto and get SQUIFFY!!
Much love and happiness to you all
