I am ashamed to say I forgot that last Saturday was Holocaust Memorial Day. There was no prominent media coverage to remind us. This single day is set aside so we could remember the MILLIONS of people who were murdered because they did not fit in with a societie's idea of ‘perfection’ because of their religion, heritage, sexuality or political views.
This may have happened in another country long before most of us were born but it should be remembered -It MUST be remembered. Only by remembering the consequences of supporting extreme prejudice can we prevent it happening again.
I know it is 3 days late but if you have a second just remember where hatred, ignorance and blind prejudice can lead us.
