The aim of this report is to provide a clear understanding of the following issues within the three
regulatory divisions, Major Retail Groups Division (MRGD), Retail Firms Division (RFD) and Small
Firms Division (SFD):
• the awareness of the requirements of the UCT Regulations;
• the level of compliance with the UCT Regulations;
• whether senior management collects and reviews Management Information (MI) on
unfair terms;
• whether firms have had previous contact with the FSA regarding the UCT Regulations and
what effect this has on compliance; and
• what firms think the FSA can do to help firms fully understand the regulatory and legal
requirements with regard to consumer contracts.
