  • Transcripts of Test Case?

I placed an order for the transcripts of the hearing and was intitaily told they'd be available 15 days after the last day. Although the Royal Courts of Justice usually supply the transcripts themselves, those for the test case are being handled by a company called Merill Legal Solutions.

But it now looks like they'll only be made available if permission is granted by the banks as I can't see that the OFT would object.

    Dear Nick

I have been chasing up your request for transcripts from the above case. I have liaised with Joe McGarrity, the clerk to Mr J Andrew Smith. He has said not to release any transcripts at this stage, he is waiting to hear from the parties directly involved in the trial as to whether the transcripts should be made available to outside parties. I will let you know as soon as a decision has been reached.

    Kind Regards

How annoying is that. They will obviously not want this to happen when they loose. Grrrrrrrrr

      How bizarre...am I misunderstanding?
The transcripts are the copies of all dialogue that took place during the hearing. This was well attended by press and had a feed room for reporting etc.

So why are the transcripts in any way sensitive????
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Forgive me if I misunderstood the process, I thought the case was/is a public event and and the transcripts should be a matter of public record.
