  • OFT Stall Investigation...Again

Iv'e only just been made aware that the OFT market study into current account charging which began in September 2006 and was due for
completion in March 2007 and put back to this month, will now not be completed until well after the test case. They have again buried this
news on some obscure page on their website.

''Within the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contract Regulations (UTCCRs) investigation, the OFT is continuing to request and analyse information supplied by the banks. Further information on this investigation will be published after the judgment has been delivered and the OFT has considered its implications.''

''After reviewing interactions with court proceedings and taking legal advice it has been decided that the findings of the market study into banks will not be published in advance of the test case. When they are published there will be a consultation with stakeholders before the final recommendations are published.''

I believe that it would be slightly odd that the investigation completed when one major part of it is taking place in the courts. It is sneaky how they have announced it however.

So their investigation is complete but they havent got the balls to reveal their findings for fear it will affect the Test Case.................erm, pardon me for being stupid but isnt this one of the points raised in the test case??? I would HOPE that any findings would be submitted as valid arguements within the Test Case ffs and not just sat on , for fear of being made to look fools. Oh hang on ......a bit late for that........they ,along with the FSA have managed to do that for themselves already

        Re: OFT Stall Investigation...Again

The OFT had said that they would stop accepting data from the banks in June for
the investigation but are now saying they are still requesting it which could mean
either the banks are dragging their heals (fancy that) or there's a deal going down
