I have taken the OFT to task in an e-mail today, for:-
- allowing Welcome to operate under multiple names and perform multiple functions under consumer credit licenses - INCLUDING keeping a credit reference agency (which one(s) is(are) that???)
- and giving said licenses despite Welcome's market abuse to tune of £200m in 2007
- and keeping a partially unusable public search register for consumer credit licenses re. unsearchable under trading name
- and being unable to state a 'definitive legal position' on CCA 1974 when they themselves are one of the powers operating in this field.
I may find it difficult to return to this thread, as this Welcome business is ridiculously time-consuming.
OFT MUST be held accountable.
