One small step for the consumer. Maybe one moderate leap for 'Consumerkind' ?

Perhaps the Universe is unfolding as it should - but patience, as a virtue, is sure being tested. Stay cool, guys. There may yet be intelligent life on this planet !!!

Common sense is not dead, on paper at least. Let's hope this is enforced in practice and not just a paper exercise. The OFT are actually very strict over the names they will and will not allow for a CCL. When I got mine, it took three of us, one legally trained, to come up with a mutually acceptable name.

Bill is right in what he says, but the OFT have had control over these names for a long time. I'm not sure what happens with trading subsidiaries, but as they have to be named on a CCL, the OFT must surely have the ability to say the name is unacceptable.

Forgive me being a little bit cynical, but why has this been put on paper now, when they have had total control over these trading names for ages?

Does that mean one may no longer set up a company solely to issue cheques for a money back guarantee?

The idea is that the account on which the cheque is drawn has a name (eg Paedophilia International or Little Willy Enlargement Service) that the customer will not dare to present to his/her bank.

          LOL - care to swop T-shirts, CC ?? What's yours ?

Mine says, "I love kids - but I couldn't eat a whole one..."

Does yours perchance say "It's not the size of the claim that matters - it's the way that you action it." ???
