That was a good victory for the OFT using UTCCR.

I'd be really grateful if anyone could let me know if they've successfully used this to challenge and cancel their memberships - I like many people had an unpleasant experience trying to end mine when the gym I was using wasn't up to scratch, and was threatened with bailiffs and poor credit rating etc... I'd love to end mine now (nearly a year later) but would love to know if anyone's been there and could give me some tips!

        I don't know.

Is your membership through Ashbourne Management Services?

Also was your contract longer than 12 months and had no right to cancel it during those first 12 months? I so then i suspect it is unfair and the termination charges would be unlawful.
