Crikey....I have to get people CRB'd just to some temping work.

Seemingly, you can get a Consumer Credit Licence far more easily, no need for pesky CRB's!!

Mr Hall, who trades in Middlesbrough as Westminster Services, is a private landlord, estate agent and property management agent. In the past, he has offered credit to tenants living in properties he manages.

After investigating information received from the North East Illegal Money Lending Team, the OFT concluded that Mr Hall obtained a consumer credit licence in September 2007 by failing to declare 23 unspent criminal convictions, including offences of theft, harassment and Grevious Bodily Harm, in breach of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

The OFT had already obtained an interim order from the High Court in April to stop Mr Hall from engaging in licensable activities pending the outcome of the OFT’s revocation process. The High Court order also prevented him from engaging in threatening, violent or intimidatory behaviour in connection with his consumer credit or ancillary credit business.

The OFT issued a minded to revoke notice on 12 March 2010. Mr Hall did not challenge this notice and the licence has now been revoked.

    NOTES

The 'Minded to Revoke Notice' was the first step in the process to revoke a consumer credit licence. This action was subject to an Adjudication and Appeals process, which did not itself immediately prevent Mr Hall from legitimately engaging in credit business activities.
On 30 March 2010, the OFT sought and obtained an interim enforcement order under Part 8 of the Enterprise Act 2002 in respect of the breaches of the Consumer Credit Act and the CPRs. Read the previous press release. This interim order had the effect of preventing Mr Hall from legitimately engaging in credit business activities pending the outcome of the licence revocation process.
The revocation of Mr Hall's licence appears on the Consumer Credit Public Register which is available at www2.crw.gov.uk/pr/Default.aspx.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Thanks for the info on this reprobate, Celestine. The Illegal Money-Lending Teams (IMLT) don't mess around when they've got sufficient evidence to move in, usually with the police in tow, as illegal money-lending often goes hand in hand with other illegal activities, e.g. drugs, prostitution. The sight of a police battering ram trashing a low-life's front door is a sight many relish, especially the victims.

Easing up on regs is coming back to haunt them now.

23 Convictions!!!! Flaming hell... I have no convictions and can not even get a driving license. Though i suppose it would help if i could be arsed to take lessons first lol.

Though i don't really need a car, as i can get to A to B easily enough. though walking back from scarborough after a night out when not been able to find a taxi can be a pain, especially when i take a wrong turn and end up 4 miles out side of filey, which is completely the wrong direction lol. Its amazing what you can achieve after a few pints.
