Apparently a judge in Bath heard 4 claims yesterday and was appalled that in one case the bank had stopped the DD to pay someones rent. After some deliberation privately, he ordered an injunction to prevent further charges to any of the accounts.
As far as I am aware this is only the second case of this happening, with the recent one in Luton.
One of the good things is that it will be very difficult for the bank to arrange the computer to do different things with the odd account. This is probably one of the few instances where the bank really will incur heavy costs for the service!!
Excellent stuff, but there doesn't seem to be any pattern to this that can be built on (yet).
