  • Charges dispute and a DCA- What now?

    Hey guys,

I know erveryone's busy at the moment with everything going on but wondered if someone could advise on this issue.

I have an account passed to IQOR for colection. The account is being collected as it was overdrawn by £1300, the majority of which is made up of charges.

Before the test case outcome I was about to get the ball rolling and get it frozen by IQOR as it was in dispute. Now obvioulsy that isn't an option.

So any idea's how I should approach this now?

Should I just try to avoid them until the OTR reveal their next hand?

    Many thanks

That is still an option and you should continue to do this on the same basis as before.
The OFT will be a couple weeks max hopefully before an announcement .

And if the OFT announce no further action?

Then there will be a class action on behalf of consumers.

As far as I know, you can still put the account in dispute whilst you argue the balance with OC. That would get IQOR off your back for the time being.

Someone with more definitive knowledge maybe able to advise you further.

Thanks for your advise. Think I will ignore them as much as I can until the OFT announcement then go from there.

Sounds like you and I are in exact same situ grimberz. I guess we have to keep in mind that what the OFT do or don't do, is not the be all and end all of our options... I for one haven't heard the dulcet tones of 'Monserrat Caballe' recently... ;-) We gotta hang in there and not allow all the 'doom and gloomers' who say its all over, distract us from our course... I've noticed there's a lot of that about (not here, but in general) I have to come back and read the positive things being done here and all the support and good advice, in order to get my thinking back on track and not get sucked into this mentality of 'finality' all the sages would have us believe... ;-) I'm probably not articulating this very well at all (sleep deprived and grey stuff to mush..;-o ) but, wot I'm sort of saying is, don't despair, keep your focus and remember... there's more than one way to skin a cat!! ;-) (ooh bad choice of idiom there lol)

IQOR is/are a DCA (Debt Collection Agency)
POC Particulars of Claim but I think you probably meant OC Original Creditor
                Is no longer here
