I also want to give a big thanks to everyone who's contributed keeping us informed this case...without LB I certainly would be in the dark about everything that's gone on. Am not all too bright when it comes to legal jargon, but this site and its members have made sense of it without making me want to lose the will to live

Keep up the good work everyone!

BBC are apparently intending on covering the handing down live from the court. If they do, that'll be absolutely brilliant

There will be a live video feed into an overspill area in the court and the Supreme Court is making the feed available to the media for live broadcast. BBC News 24 may broadcast it and it may be broadcast on the BBC News website.

This from another BBC source when asked about it:

                  Possibly,
We will have a live feed from the Supreme Court of the judgement being made. But I don't know if any programmes will actually broadcast it,
The charges coming in to the banking industry every day will more than pay the banks total legal bill for the whole test case so why wouldn’t the Banks want to "ensure Justice at the highest level"

I hope I’m not getting overly excited and then it’s all over within minutes. Damn wrong forum again!!! Actually wrong site!!

Is it true this whole thing will be just minutes? I’m expecting some OAP with a wig and red robe reading out 5billion pages of findings?

I spoke with Supreme Court press office earlier today.

There are only 28 places available in the actual room where Lord Phillips will hand down the judgment. These are expected to be fully taken up with Press and senior Barristers although we are trying to secure at least one space for LB.

A live feed of the handing down will be available in the Supreme Court canteen and it is possible that an additional room will be made available for any overflow.

It is expected that the handing down will only take 5 minutes. Lord Phillips will give a brief introduction describing the case and what had to be decided and will then give the judgment.

Copies of the full judgment by each of the 5 Law Lords will be available to collect immediately after handing down and it should be up on the supreme court website shortly afterwards.

                        BROWN SPEECH LEAKED ?

Just found this post on the bitter wallet site. Can any one confirm its providence?

                        LOL

Watch Brown hijack the issue in a speech tomorrow along these lines:

“we have been accused in the past of being soft on the banking industry but I now believe the time has come to be firm with the British Banking industry, and send this message to them that your Government will not tolerate the systematic profiteering through charges applied which are likely to fall short of the laws of the people of the United Kingdom.

I have today spoken with the Governor of the Bank of England and the chairman of the FSA and asked them in the light of this historic judgement by the (labour appointed) Supreme Court of Justice, to speak to the chief executives of all of the Banking institutions involved in this case to agree with the OFT an arrangement for the systematic return of all of these excessive charges to the British public who have been clearly wronged in this matter.

I have also asked for the British Banking Association and FSA to sit down with the OFT in an effort to agree a way forward with such charges in both terms of price and application.
The days of Bankers unfairly profiteering from the application of unfair charges to the voting public are now over thanks to this government’s intervention through their appointed body OFT.

Please believe me or Ill be fXXXXX at the Polls.”
The charges coming in to the banking industry every day will more than pay the banks total legal bill for the whole test case so why wouldn’t the Banks want to "ensure Justice at the highest level"
