  • Cardiff bulk hearing 14 August

The court in Cardiff confirmed yesterday that the bulk hearing on 14 August will be going ahead, with 800 on the list.

    GAME ON

My enquiry was actually because I am hoping to join them all in the pub afterwards.

The latest news this afternoon is that the Cardiff court is staying everything.

Enquirers are being told that if they appeal they need to state why their case should stand out above the others.

In Cardiff at least, it seems that the courts are already dancing to the banks' tunes.

Okay with over 800 cases stayed we are recommending that the stays are accepted without applying to overturn it.

Unless you are on benefits (a susbstantial part of your income is benefits) - or you have a claim against you in the court system which incorporates charges of this nature - or you are in dire need of the money to avoid repossession/bankruptcy.

We do not believe a generic application template should be used...although we will cover the main points generically. Individual applications should be written to cover each claimants specific circumstances.

I think a timely bump on this one as it appears to be a changing situation. Ame, can you confirm that we would not advise to overturn a stay UNLESS a substantial part of the benefits come from the state, ie benefits?

There have been discussions about this and I'm currently working on ideas for guidance.

One problem is trying to ascertain quite what is happening with stays and whether there is any discernible pattern. Any advice we issue must be based solidly on a clear picture of what the baseline is.

Please bear with me on this one - we will release guidance and information as soon as we feel able to do this and when the optimum time arrives.

Re: Cardiff bulk hearing 14 August

If you are on income support/jsa etc then you can apply to have the stay removed and it should not cost you anything either.
If you have any sort of problems with bailiffs. I can help you as i am a self proclaimed specialist at dealing with them. I am hopefully going to start a degree (law) from october. If you think my posts are helpful or are guiding you in the right direction do show your appreciation by giving me a green blob.
