    Re: Think Banking Account ?????????

I have a Nationwide Flex Account and use it for just that purpose, and you can have an e-savings account that links to it, and put anything left over into it.
Its very handy just one click and its all sorted.

But you have to be very disciplined to do it, and at first I found it very hard, but am getting there now.

      Re: Think Banking Account ?????????

Maestro is not the best to be fair and isn't accepted in as many places as mastercard or visa.

I don't think I would consider one of these, I think all banks should continue to charge for defaults but at a fair rate. Simple.

If on top of this they want to flog spandangled accounts with extra things like breakdown cover and phone or travel insurance then they can make their profit from these accounts from people who want them.

I had a basic cashcard account with LTSB and they asked me if I wanted to upgrade to a current account. I did and they tried to flog me one of the sparkley accounts which I turned down, telling them no I will just have the standard current account thank you very much.

          good one nells.

          okay T&Cs from One - http://www.onebanking.co.uk/PDFs/TermsConditions.pdf

This is an account with a billing account and a prepaid card account. They do seem to have charges for transactions that take you into a shortfall situation though. Although they are much lower than standard bank account default charges. It is also RBS (''Yes, your money is held completely securely in NatWest Bank'') and Newcastle Building Society.

4.7 If, for any reason whatsoever, you are able to make a
transaction when there are insufficient funds on your
Prepaid Card Account for that transaction (a ‘shortfall’),
we will seek reimbursement of the shortfall immediately.
If the shortfall results from an error by the retailer where
your Prepaid Card was used, we may seek the shortfall
from the retailer. Otherwise, we may transfer the amount
of the shortfall from your Billing Account or any other
account that you have with us, or may charge it to any other
payment method that you may nominate at that time or
against any funds that you may subsequently pay into your
Prepaid Card Account or into any other account that you
subsequently open with us. Until we receive reimbursement
for the shortfall, we may suspend your onebanking
Account. In addition, we reserve the right to charge you an
administration fee for each transaction that you make using
your Prepaid Card that results in a shortfall or increases the
shortfall amount on your Prepaid Card Account
          .

          8 Fees
8.1 We will charge the following fees to your Billing Account:
onebanking Account opening fee (primary card only) £30.00

          secondary cards) £35.00
          onebanking Account additional card £5.00
          onebanking Account monthly management fee,
charged on the 1st day of each month £12.50
Direct payment of funds into Billing Account via
NatWest Bank or by BACS Free
Balance enquiry and alerts via mobile
          phone text message £0.15
          Balance enquiry via website Free
          Customer service telephone enquiries Lo-call
          rate

          onebanking Account closure £4.95

          Card Account:
