I own my mobile phone. Tesco is my mobile provider. Tesco hold data that links my mobile to me. O2 provides Tesco with their mobile network. So I suppose O2 have the data that knows where my mobile phone is at any one time, and may or may not keep an historical log of this. I think they probably do for a certain period of time.
My question is about the historical location data of MY OWN mobile phone. Does that belong to me, as Tesco could use the location data, combined with the data they hold on my account, to "identify" me.
Do I own that historical location data and can I request it? If so, what is the best way to go about it, and does anyone have an example letter that I could send Tesco, which will make them roll over and give me the data? Even if they themselves have to ask O2 for it?
Kind regards
Padraig
