I have never benefitted from 'no claims bonus protection' where I am assuming that NCD is not lost in the event of a claim during the insured period, but I am a great believer in the fact that 'nothing is free' and even loss of NCD being protected in some way is just another insurance that has to be paid for as statistically such a protection could outstrip the company of any element of profit on the one motor policy.

That suggests to me that is an expensive option and must be tightly regulated. Hence I applaud anything that makes it a lot more transparent as it constitutes, I believe, a double indemnity.
