Bailiffs hounding me

Hi,
I guess you have heard this many times, I'm sorry but I have bailiffs putting letters through the door with a warrant for my arrest, I owe lots of council tax, through divorce an my business going bust, got a job then lost it, I now have nothing but £75 a week job seekers, I owe year of mortgage, gas/levy £4000 and big council tax bill. I'm lost and unless I get a job(applied for 100s) I'm done for. A bailiff opened bolts on my gate and banged crap out of my door, tried to force the other gate with his shoulder first. Any help before this honest man ends up in prison would be helpful. Thanks.

I am sure one of the clever beagles will be along soon to offer some sound advice but in the meantime, remember this. When you have nothing, they can take nothing! However you do need to show them that. I know that is cold comfort right now but you cannot get blood out of a stone. If you can show you are trying to survive on £75 pw, then all your debtors will be lucky to get £1 a month. No one will fling you in prison if you haven’t got it.
The best thing I can suggest you do before anyone takes a look at this thread is list all your debts, what you owe and what stage the debt is at i.e., is there a CCJ and which ones the bailiffs are chasing. These are the biggies that need immediate attention as you need to put a stop to them trying to get in. Now it is usually terrifying to list your debts but it is a start to hacking away at them. Wait and see what the other beagles who are the experts have to say but do try not to worry. If you look at similar threads you will see this is the start of the turnaround.
