  • P45 from previous employee not given

    Hi
Can someone please advise on how I go about obtaining my P45 from my previous employee?
I left my last job on 04 July and have not receive my P45 or last wage slip ( last pay date was 29 July)
I’ve since tried on several occasions to contact my old boss and ask for both documents but I am being ignored. I have since started a new job on 01 August and getting emergency taxed because I’ve been unable to provide a P45.
I don’t know how to go about obtaining my P45 if my boss is not willing to speak to me or pass on the documents.

I would get on to your local tax office and explain the situation, by law your ex employer must supply one

It might be the case that the employer will produce them all on a monthly pay run and was missed in july for whatever reason.

if your tax code is wrong, contact the tax office and they will place you onto a wk1/month 1 code which means you will pay the right amount of tax each individual month but it wont give you any refunds or collect any extra you might owe from previous months.
