  • Normal practice for arranged payments on credit file to go to default

    Hi all,

Got a default on my credit file, I am an ex compass client so it's excepted my credit is so bad.
Started with compass in March 2010. (Roughly)
Most of my debts that went into a DMP have either dropped off my file or got defaulted more than 6 years ago.

I have one default with Cabot, it's a credit card, it is showing on my file as AP (arranged payment ?) from June 2011 - April 2015. Then this got defaulted may 2015.
I have read somewhere that in certain circumstances an AP on your file can be deleted with experian after 3 years and equifax after 4 years? I do also understand that if you are in a DMP an AP can stay on your file Indefinitely.
Is there any way I can challenge this as it should of been defaulted years ago like my other debts had been?
What options do I have to get this removed?
If I pay off the debt in full would that get the default off my file?
Just seems a bit harsh that this debt has only been defaulted after 5 years of me being in a DMP.
    Any help would be grateful
Do have a screen shot of the default if that helps anyone.

    Thanks

    Jason
