  • Item not received

    Hi all
I ordered a coffee machine from currys online in 19th Dec with 3-5 days delivery I wasn't to worried when it didn't arrive within that time due to xmas etc but when it still wasn't here on 4 th Jan I gave them a call to be told that it had been lost in transit and there was nothing they could do until they discovered if it was the courier taking it to Royal Mail that lost it or if Royal Mail lost it
In the mean time I'm left without the item and out of pocket also currys have not contacted me once to inform me as to what's going on
Where do I go from here ? Can I claim compensation ?
    Thanks

Straight back on to Currys and demand your money back. Try contacting the CEO by email. Details on website ceomail

        Re: Item not received

It is the sellers responsibility to get the goods to you in a reasonable time.
They have failed to deliver within the time frame they suggested.
I would write to them, signed for, along the following lines:

        Dear Sir
I ordered etc etc on xx/xx with delivery anticipated by XX/xx

You have failed to deliver within a reasonable time and this is considered to be a breach of contract.
I am now making time of the essence and require you deliver the item within seven days of receipt of this letter

Unless the machine was required for a business and failure to deliver has caused you loss I don't see you being able to claim for compensation, but you can always ask for some!

          Good morning,

Before considering " compensation" you must allow time for the retailer to investigate the loss.

The next thing to do is make a Formal Complaint to Curry's including a demand for a full refund
          within 7 days.
Was there any " special " deal on the machine? e.g. guaranteed delivery " in time for Christmas.

There is something that they can do! They can send you the item again and sort out where the original went in their own time.
