  • Bailiff help needed desperately!

Hi all! I need some desperate help. I have stupidly managed to get myself in debt with council tax for just over £200. I moved house recently and the debt was on the old house. I recieved a bailiff visit on Monday this week (letter of collection of goods and a demand for £530) and again a visit yesterday (Wednesday). Didn't engage with them - wasn't in at the time. Never recieved a notice that it was being passes into the bailiffs and I phoned them telling them that I hadn't recieved a notice of intent / warrant and they informed me they didn't have to send one before their first visit and that the council was responsible for sending this- saying that this so called letter must have gone to my old address. To cut a long story short I can afford to pay the 200 directly to the council but not until Monday (3 days away) since the bailiff is posting letters through my door every two days I am terrified he will take my car before I can pay the full debt back to the council. Should he be visiting that often and should I be worried about my car? As I said he only started visiting this week. Next, once I have paid my debt on Monday directly to the council what rights has he got to try and get his fees back off me? Will the liability order be dead? Will he still be able to try and take my car? Any advice will be so greatly recieved! I'm panicking and terrified to even open my curtains or switch my lights on
