A while ago, a campaign was set up after Newsnight depicted a working single Mam as lazy and a benefit seeker; 27000 people signed the petition, and a link was posted here, today I received this, all my personal details have been removed.

With you and more than 27,000 others standing behind me, I stood up to the BBC for publicly humiliating me and all working mothers on national TV. It was an incredibly hard thing to do and I couldn’t have done it without your support.
Last Thursday night, Newsnight listened to our petition and issued a live on-air apology. Thank you -- this wouldn’t have happened without you.
When you signed my petition calling for the BBC to publicly apologise for misrepresenting me during an interview on Newsnight in May, the BBC issued a written apology. This was a huge step in acknowledging what they'd done but it still wasn't as public as my humiliation.
So, armed with your support I took the issue to the BBC editorial complaints board and last Thursday night, Newsnight finally apologised on air -- you can watch it here.
I was absolutely amazed and almost couldn't believe it! Hearing it acknowledged live on TV was an emotional but incredible feeling. I didn't give up and I made sure they knew I had the support of over 27,000 people -- like you -- behind me.
When I first saw the interview on the programme back in May I was totally humiliated and embarrassed but the support I've received from everyone has been incredible.
This has been a massive victory for me and now that the BBC has fully acknowledged their wrongdoing I hope they'll think twice about doing it to others.
Thank you,
Shanene
