  • Help needed with approaches to local press

    :director:

A new subforum has been set up for approaches to local papers that can give publicity to the site to attract new members.

Local Newspapers Campaign - Legal Beagles

Please help with this for your area as these approaches need to come from local residents. We need to push this NOW while the test case and credit crunch are very topical.

Also to try and reach people that may not usually be looking for forums and sites to help with debt management etc. We are already seeing an upturn in larger debt problems and we expect things to get worse, the earlier we can get people on board and start helping them, the more chance of sorting things out before repossessions and bankruptcys happen.

I agree Ame, I have always said there are many more peeps out there that are not computer literate, do not have access to computers and would not know how to search for sites like this.

These peeps would normally go to places like the CAB - who are IMHO reallt very over worked and difficult to get appointments unless you are prepared to wait for hours and even then they may not necessaily know the best advice to give and many more peeps just shrivel up and do nothing and allow the system to take over.

I thought the doctors surgeries often have a notice board, if someone is depressed or suffering from a medical condition that is having an effect on their income and thus causing a debt situ - a poster in their local surgeries together with some cards left for them to take one could make a difference. After all while waiting for the doctor what else can you do but read all the notices on the board and you may well pick up some more peeps in financial trouble.

Has anyone thought of putting a small ad in Private Eye.

Even though some will deny it a great many of the great & the good read the Eye (mainly to check if they are in it).....& that includes much of the media.......you only have to read the letters to realize that

I could do Oxford /Aylesbury and Thame papers.

Also there is also a really good new popular radio station Jack Fm - I could ask if they would be willing to do announcement - but not brave enough to be interviewed!

Also I will put cards in some shops if required.
