  • Interesing Figures from DRF

Debt Resolution Foundation client survey pulled up a couple interesting figures. This survey is of clients who are using a DRF member (like Cleardebt for fee charging debt ''help'' ).

So before going to the DRF company people sought information and advice from

so proportionally quite a large increase on forums there and a massive increase in internet searches, also a huge decrease in no other help sought before going to a DRF member (fee paying DMP's) (not sure that is good as it means we're not doing our job properly if people are still ending up with fee charging DMPs when they could use free services, but nice to see increase in useage)

Also this on 'first impressions' of the DRF companies is interesting.... people seem to have 'learnt' that top doesn't mean 'best' and reviews are much more important to people now. Bit worrying less people are putting importance on having the right regulatory licences etc though, and examples of cost, that'd be one of the first things I would look at.

Anyway lots more stuff in there, report attached as PDF (remember it is basically a marketing/client satisfaction survey so salt needed)

Noticed that 26.8% said ‘they contacted me’ and although 33.5% mentioned testimonials /referrals these are two very different things. For example; if they get a bona fide referral from a respected source or individual known to them that is a lot more dependable than the b****cks you often see on websites where ‘Dave from Essex was absolutely delighted’ !Anonymous testimonials posted up on the organisations website are not a good indicator of that company’s success. I hope people go to independent sources for testimonials/referrals.
To be honest, anyone who looks on this site would be inclined to take heed of the advice they get and ‘fight the good fight’ but there are many sites out there that may give solace but no practical help. We indeed are the lucky ones!:tongue2:

An optimist is someone who falls off the Empire State Building, and after 50 floors says, 'So far so good'!
