  • £1,000 mobile phone gaming bill 11-year-old son racked up in TWO WEEKS

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...mobile-3998976

£10 a month phone bill had rocketed to £850.

Son had signed up as a member of online game Small Worlds - where users create their own virtual universes.

And unknown to her he had bought optional extras such as VIP membership which grants exclusive access to parts of the site, as well as credits to buy items within the game.

The debt has now increased to nearly £1,000 with added admin costs, and phone provider T-Mobile are threatening to send in bailiffs to recover the money.

Are limits not put onto monthly mobile usage charges. Do you not have to "Opt Out" on such a restriction.

I believe it was brought in as to excessive roaming charges abroad but i cannot say for definite

I'm not sure either ... my teenage sons both have a mobile for safety reasons (but with no internet access on them) and it costs £10 every three months (PAYG). They get free calls/texts to each other (and myself and my partner), for the whole 3mths so they usually end up with almost the whole £10 top up still left

I am under the impression, that the bill payers permission should be sort, before any charges can legally be claimed.
If Kay Flanders is the bill payer, she should just tell T/Mobile that she never gave permission.

If I am correct it states in T&Cs that the Bill payers oermission must be sought by the phone user not the Company?

That is correct , I probably didn't make myself clear on that point.
