Two Romanian women who helped a criminal gang steal almost €400,000 from online auction website eBay customers have agreed to leave Ireland.

The pair were arrested in Dublin last November following an investigation by the Garda Fraud Squad.

By using fake passports, Cristina Manda and Georgina Draghici opened up 16 so-called "mule accounts" at various banks across Dublin city.

The fraudsters would then target eBay customers looking to buy high-value items.

Bogus items were advertised online and the buyer was instructed to deposit the agreed amount in the Irish accounts.

The women would then withdraw the cash and hand it over to other gang members. Both women have been in custody since their arrest last November.

They avoided a four year stint behind bars by agreeing to leave Ireland and stay away for six years.

EBay and PayPal really need to sort out their security. My husband recently received an email from pay pal telling him that someone had bought his ‘postman pat ‘figures on eBay and £200 (around –can’t remember exactly) had been sent to his pay pal account.
1 he doesn’t have an eBay account
      2 He doesn’t have a PayPal account
      3 He is 54
4 He is more interested in Thunderbirds than postman Pat whom he considers to be a bit of a git!

An optimist is someone who falls off the Empire State Building, and after 50 floors says, 'So far so good'!
