On today's BBC Money Box, a man took Thompsons Holidays to the small claims court for being charged a 100% cancelation fee on a holiday he couldn't go on after his wife fell ill.
The canny claimant managed to prove that Thompsons resold the flight and hotel meaning there was no actual loss.
I'd love to see the judgment on this. It just goes to show that some big companies don't take their obligations under UTCCR at all seriously.
