SERCO has surrendered its contract to provide the out of hours doctor service in Cornwall over 17 months before its expiration after the standard of the service it was providing was found wanting. It was found that performance figures had been manipulated to show there had been more call-outs than had actually taken place. This follows hot on the heels of the decision not to renew SERCO's offender tagging contract with the Ministry of Justice.
