  • UK Storms

Yellow and amber warnings for severe weather have been issued by the MET office for high winds in most parts of the UK and high winds and snow in some areas of Northern UK.

As my dogs just nearly blew away in the wind I'd say I'm in a risk area!! Lol

Stay safe everyone and have torches and candles to hand just in case!!!

    Re: UK Storms

    Thank you.

    It's been horrific!

Here in Wales 80 to 90 mph, more-so this morning until mid day, some parts of Wales 93mph.

I hear Scotland have had a very bad time of it too with an even higher MPH scale.

It's calmed down here in Wales for now, but hear more is on the way!

Was mopping up rain water in my kitchen this morning, but we have a new double glazed door to put up, just waiting for the job to get done! lol.

Many road closures, collapsed trees and nasty accidents!

green house smashed and this monster branch just landed in the garden.....missed the bird coop and gate by inches!!

"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

That's awful!! We have lost the 'to let' sign from next door - it hit the bonnet of someones car - no damage luckily I don't think though.
