We had the finest pension system in Europe in 1997, when Brown took over. Now it's bust, with elderly workers facing penury. If the government were a private company, they'd be in jail by now.
Lord Falconer was part of that - he has been involved since the beginning and he did nothing about it.
Now he wants a six figure pension for himself.
Just for reference here, the Basic State Retirement Pension for a single person is approx £3,150 pa. Although, there is now a Minimum income guarantee of about £90 a week, which equates to approximately £4600 pa.
