Labour's rush to get its legislation onto the statute book before last year's general election resulted in a record number of laws being made in 2010.
In total, 3,506 laws were introduced in the UK last year - up a massive 41% on the previous year and the equivalent of 13.8 every working day, according to research by legal information provider Sweet & Maxwell.
Some 1,788 of them - 51% of the total - were introduced in the first four months of the year, before the May 6 election..................
