    Re: Camden council going begging to the Bankers

    Sceptics described the idea of asking for donations as a “PR stunt” and “a Band Aid solution”.
    The scheme, in its early stages of discussion among the Labour group, would be completely voluntary and rely entirely on the generosity of high-salary residents."

    The bit in bold is what I think but to be honest I wouldn't give any money voluntarily to the council from a bonus.

    As you've said, whatever next? Extend the scheme to anyone who is well off who gets a bonus? Maybe extend it to those who get a pay rise this year.

      The Tax Payer bailed out the Bank's due to the lack of regualtion etc under Labour (Blair/Brown) and now;
      the result of the Coalition Gov's spending review, is that Gov. bodies ie: Camden Council are suggesting, cap in hand, going back to the very Bank's (and others) who were bailed out by the Tax Payer - Council Tax Payer's.

      Ridiculous and an OUTRAGE!

        They've also increased duty on petrol, put up VAT etc,etc, I think the idea of asking bankers or any profession for money is ridiculous. Next they'll be asking for loans from Icelandic banks
