2010: A Knife Edge Year

The banking industry needs responsible change, proportionate reform and sustainable institutions, British Bankers' Association chief executive Angela Knight said as she looked forward to the New Year. She said UK banks were keen to see change and to work with government and financial authorities to strengthen the industry but she warned that proposals currently being considered needed to be properly thought through if the UK was not to see another vital industry lost to international competition.
