Bank of Scotland error leads to double charging

The Bank of Scotland said it will repay any customers who were charged twice for transactions after a technical fault.
According to the BBC, a small number of customers across the UK were affected by the double charging last week when they used the bank's electronic point of sale system.
Chris Parton, owner of the Highland Soaps Company's shop in Fort William, told the BBC he has had to make two refunds to angry customers: "Some people have come to the shop very angry about it, because they think it is us who have charged them twice."
A spokesman for the bank told the BBC yesterday: "Yes, we have had an issue where a small number of customers who have used these payment terminals have been double charged for their purchases.
"We have fixed the problem and will make sure any customers affected are reimbursed in full by tomorrow at the latest."
