  • Lloyds TSB refund 36 million pounds

Along with a number of other UK banks, during the first half of 2007 the Group has experienced a number of
customer claims for the repayment of overdraft fees. On 27 July, a number of banks, together with the Office
of Fair Trading (OFT), asked the UK High Court to clarify the legal position regarding these fees. It is unclear
how long the case will last but, in the meanwhile, the handling of customer complaints on this issue has been
suspended pending a decision by the court. The first half results include a charge of £36 million relating to
the settlement of claims during the first half of the year, together with related costs.
